Morbid/Severe Obesity and Related Medical Conditions

Morbid Obesity is a chronic, fatal disease
  • Excessive body fat that often results in serious health problems
  • Severe obesity: when serious medical conditions occur as a direct result of the obesity
  • Defined as over 200 percent of ideal weight,
    at least 100 pounds overweight, or a Body Mass Index (BMI) above 35-40
